Well Mediobanca after all, you see Colaninno
The good performance for the merchant bank in Piazzetta Cuccia. Mediobanca is in fact going up, 1, 68% to 12.26 euros after publishing the accounts. The first half of the current year was closed for Mediobanca with a consolidated profit before tax of 272 million euros (200.2 at end-December 2000). Ordinary management is in line with last year (185.3 against 184.4 million) with a 9% improvement in net interest income which offset the decrease in commissions and higher cost structure. Of note also that at the end of the board there was a conversation between Roberto Colaninno and the managing director of Mediobanca, Vincenzo Maranghi.
